The OFFSHORE Academy is a programme of offshore wind energy training courses and seminars, implemented since 2012 by the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Society in cooperation with the Maritime Institute in Gdansk (IMG) and industry partners (industry partners for the pilot phase of the OFFSHORE® Academy in 2012 were Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and GL Garrad Hassan (GL)).
The Polish Offshore Wind Industry Chamber (PIMEW) will continue with the next editions of the OFFSHORE Academy. From 2024 (i.e. the ninth edition), ORLEN Neptun will be the Titular Partner, while the full name of the format will be OFFSHORE Academy powered by ORLEN Neptun.
The mission of the OFFSHORE Academy is to provide direct access to information on the latest knowledge and best practices in the planning, design, implementation and operation of offshore wind farms, as well as the preparation and organisation of production and services for the offshore wind energy sector.
The aim of the seminars organised by the OFFSHORE Academy is, in addition to the transfer of knowledge and experience, to provide an in-depth, substantive discussion of technical and legal/organisational solutions for the development of offshore wind energy that can be applied in Poland.
The OFFSHORE Academy pursues its objectives by organising regular industry-specific training courses and thematic seminars on specific technical issues or scientific aspects related to offshore wind energy, presented by top-class experts - practitioners and scientists active in the European market.
In addition to residential training, the OFFSHORE Academy organises study visits and away seminars, as well as publishing and dissemination activities.
